It is now official; summer is over and fall is about to begin. This time of year always makes me think of green tomatoes-they seem to perfectly embody the transition from one season to the next. The dwindling daylight, the lower temperatures--not quite enough solar power to keep things ripening--the final signal to take advantage of the last of the summer harvest.
